FDLTCC Holds Annual Nursing & Healthcare Expo

CLOQUET, Minn. – It was a busy Tuesday at Fond du Lac Tribal and Community College.  It was a campus visit day for prospective students, and the college’s annual Nursing and Healthcare Expo.

Everyone who attended, from current and future students to members of the public, got their chance to learn more about what opportunities are available in health care.  The expo also help current nursing and healthcare students fill job openings in the high demand field.

“We worked real closely with our COVID safety committee,” says FLDTCC recruiter Josh Cleveland, “and so there’s a great air handling system here in the gym.  All of the tables are spaced out, and then the tours, instead of having it be self-paced where everybody is just checking out the campus on their own, its set up where there will be small group tours every 20 minutes.”

Organizers add the around 30 vendors have become regulars to the expo, spanning the state of Minnesota from International Falls to Bemidji, and from Silver Bay to the Twin Cities.

“Our vendors are often calling months in advance saying that they want to come and spend time with our students, to be able to share about the great opportunities that they have, and I know our students really appreciate the opportunity to learn about what’s out there.”

In addition to the job fair, there was also a COVID vaccine and booster clinic open to the public
