Duluth Firefighters Participate In Movember

DULUTH, Minn. — All month-long Duluth firefighters have been raising awareness for men’s health.

It’s called Movember, where throughout the month of November firefighters have been sporting different styles and sizes of mustaches. All to raise awareness for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and cancer awareness.

A fun fact is firefighters cannot have a beard because there needs to be a solid seal when wearing a mask on their face. So, they take advantage any way they can to grow some facial hair.

“It’s been really positive; we have fun growing them. The community seems to have a positive reaction to it. It’s fun all around for us. Firefighters have a tradition of growing mustaches, so it’s especially fun for us,” said Raymond Skoglund, firefighter.

It is recommended that men schedule a preventative care appointment around this time. The Duluth Fire Department says they are proud to recognize and participate in this annual event.
