Lake Superior College Gives Students Opportunities To Live Healthy Lifestyles

DULUTH, Minn. — Lake Superior College hosted its annual Health and Wellness Fair Wednesday.

This event is all about helping students learn ways to live a healthy lifestyle and network. Students are able to meet with different community agencies, get free blood testing done, and grab a healthy snack.

And you do not need to have an interest in the health care field as everyone is welcome to attend and learn something new. Organizers hope students leave with plenty of resources in order to make healthier choices.

“Being away from home for the first time and being in school you’re being in a whole different environment. Mental health issues arise sometimes from some of those choices that we make or might just struggle with in itself and so, I think that you know having some resources available is most important. You have to know what your resources are, you have to be your best health advocate for yourself that you can be,” said Roxanne Frederick, Health and Wellness Coordinator at LSC.

The health fair took place at LSC’s main campus. It has been going on for over 16 years.
