Minnesota Rural Health Conference Going on in Duluth
DULUTH, Minn — Health professionals from across the state are at the DECC for the Minnesota Rural Health Conference. The workforce shortage is one of the main topics during the two-day conference. The issue is not limited to doctors and nurses, but the whole spectrum of providers. This includes administrative workers who can help manage and keep costs in check.
Alyssa Meller, the Chief Operating Officer for Minnesota Rural Healthcare said “One of our workforce plenary sessions, actually, this afternoon at one o’clock, we’ll be featuring success stories in that area. And it’s a partnership between Montevideo public schools, the local health care system, and the local community college as well. So when students graduate from that program, there are the certificates and one of the certificates in four different areas as well, too, and they’re ready to enter the workforce when they graduate from high school.”
More than 500 people providing rural healthcare as well as companies featuring innovative products for the industry, are attending the conference.
