Doctors Make Checkups Fun With Super Hero Week
SUPERIOR, Wis. — It’s back to school season, which means students across the northland are scheduling their routine check-ups.
While some dread the doctor’s office, Dr. Emily Anderson and her team at Lake Superior Community Health Center in Superior IS making the visit a so-called super experience.
“So, this week is what we call Super Hero week,” said Dr. Anderson. “We’ve been doing this for several years now. We have kids who absolutely look forward to coming in this week, because they want to participate in the fun. And so, they show up in their own costumes, they’re thrilled to play the games. We like to think that it becomes something to look forward to.”
For the rest of the week, the center will be offering routine check-ups and immunizations, along with backpacks and school supplies to all patients.
