Record-Breaking Donation Thanks to Super One Foods Customers
DULUTH, Minn. — The American Heart Association is celebrating a record amount of donations by customers at Super One Foods — $90,000 worth.
For the month of September customers at dozens of Super One locations across Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan could round up their total bill at the register or simply make a donation toward the cause.
The American Heart Association Director says she’s shocked by the amount of money raised.
“I’ve only been with the American Heart Association for 4 years. But just a few years ago when I started, we raised anywhere from $30,000 to maybe $45,000 a year. And now to raise over $90,000 in one month is just mind blowing,” said Briana Johnson, Director of the American Heart Association.
Officials from Super One say heart heath is part of their business model providing healthy options on their shelves.
“We’re big believers in being able to do what we can to help give back and help support these organizations that can help all of us thrive and live stronger. We appreciate the community support,” said Patrick Miner, President of Miners, Inc.
The donation funds will support cardiac research, education, and improved care to help people live longer and healthier lives.
