Superior Library Hosts “Halloween Party Memory Cafe”
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Superior Public Library hosted an event helping people with memory loss, while also having some spooky fun.
The Superior Library hosts a monthly memory cafe, bringing awareness to those dealing with memory loss.
For October, they ended the month with a Halloween themed party.
People who went got to enjoy treats, and drinks, and even see balloon art performance by Lauralloons.
The events today are fun, but also serve an important cause.
“Now the great thing about a memory cafe, is we’re trying to support people to get out in the community. We want them to feel less isolated. Isolation is really a detrimental effect on the brain. So, we really try to focus on getting people out there, a part of the community engaging so it does help their brain health,” said Douglas County dementia specialist Leah Crist.
The memory cafe events each month is free for anyone to attend.
The next one will be happening November 27th, and will have activities such as caramel apple making, and tips on de-stressing before the holidays.
