Students Race in Fit-N-Fun Run
DULUTH, Minn. — Duluth Students raced in the annual Essentia health Fit N Fun Run.
Students between third and fifth grade ran the quarter-mile race.
Each student received a ribbon and commemorative T-shirt.
Families and other students were also able to cheer classmates on.
“I think it’s really great to have kids be part of this race style atmosphere, especially for students who may not experience this in their home settings or with their families, they can come here and experience it as part of their schooling and see if it’s something that is enjoyable for them or not.” said Erika Drengler, Phy Ed Teacher for Duluth Public Schools.
This Fun Run partnered with Grandma Marathon’s Young Athletes foundation.
The goal is to increase the students experience being active in a variety of settings.
Because there are over fifteen hundred students, some will be racing tomorrow as well.
