Wildfire Smoke Prompts Statewide Air Quality Alert
DULUTH, Minn. –– An air quality alert has been released across Minn. as wildfire smoke makes its way throughout the state.
Due to wildfire smoke drifting from Canada, the entire state of Minn. has been issued an air quality alert by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. This alert will remain in effect until noon on Wednesday, June 4, as the smoke clears out.
“The air quality alert that we sent out this morning includes hazardous, which is the top of that AQI scale, very unhealthy, unhealthy for all, and unhealthy for sensitive individuals,” said Matt Taraldsen, a supervisory meteorologist.
Medical experts, along with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, strongly recommend limiting outdoor activity for both people and pets during this time of unhealthy to hazardous air quality.
