Solvay Hospice House temporarily pausing care due to looming MNA strike
DULUTH, Minn. – Miller-Dwan Foundation and Essentia Health announced they will be temporarily pausing care at Solvay Hospice House beginning July 8.
The announcement was made in response to the Minnesota Nurses Association (MNA) plan to begin an open-ended strike at 7 a.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.
Solvay is owned by Miller-Dwan Foundation and care within Solvay is provided by Essentia Health staff.
This strike will impact the team at Solvay Hospice House.
The Essentia Health hospice team say they will work closely with families to ensure stable residential patients are transitioned to appropriate long-term care facilities.
Miller-Dwan Foundation says for those very near the end of life, care will continue at Solvay uninterrupted.
