GRAND PORTAGE, Minn. — Grand Portage got the ‘gift of sound’ as Miracle Ear gave out free screenings and hearing aids to those in need.

The two-day event took place at the Grand Portage Lodge and Casino on September 9th and 10th.

Miracle Ear puts on these ‘miracle missions’ across the country to help areas with limited access to hearing health care.

They chose Grand Portage because of its significant access barriers such as distance to nearby hearing specialists.

Recipients of the program were screened for hearing lost and fitted for hearing aids designed for their level of loss.

Those who received care are also able to access local aftercare checkups in Grand Portage or Grand Marais.
