Dozens Turn Out For Annual ‘Walk To End Alzheimer’s’ In Duluth

DULUTH, Minn. — A Walk to End Alzheimer’s brought out families, caregivers and people affected by the disease over the weekend in Duluth.

Walkers were there to help raise money to find a cure for the disease.

They carried flowers that symbolized the different ways the Alzheimer’s touches their lives.

But one color was missing, and that is the driving force for the walk.

“The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the dream that one day we won’t have Alzheimer’s at all.  We have a white flower that represents a world without Alzheimer’s or other related dementia one day. So our goal is to eradicate it if we can,” said Mike Ryth, walk manager.

The Minnesota-North Dakota Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association holds many different events throughout the year.

The events are meant to support communities, remind families that their loved ones will never be forgotten and bring hope that one day a white flower will be present at the next walk.
