Lutsen Fall Colors Experiencing Two Peaks This Year
LUTSEN, Minn.– Lutsen mountains is open year-round with different seasons bringing in different opportunities.
But while the leaves are turning it’s the biggest turn out the resort has all year.
“Last year, on our busiest day, we had a record day. We had 4,600 people here. We have a lot of people that come up from the cities. We’ll have a decent amount come from Fargo, some from Wisconsin. And people are just always astonished by just how much forest we have here,” said Zak Trimble, Director of Guest Operations at Lutsen Mountains.
Lutsen offers a unique viewing experience.
A steep gondola ride later, you’ll find yourself on a ski hill during winter but in autumn, a gorgeous deck overlooking a never-ending sea of red, orange and still some green.
“So, we’re going to get two peak seasons this year, depending on what you want to see. If you want to see the top, come now it looks amazing. You want to see the valley another week or so, that’ll look really nice as well,” said Trimble.
And the longtime regulars who come back every year, they said it’s a healing experience.
“We’ve made our way up here for 30 plus years now. The North Shore has so much to offer. It’s very soul soothing, and it’s just relaxing, peaceful,” said Ryan Jensen, a long time Lutsen visitor.
Jensen said, it doesn’t take much to enjoy the scenery.
“As you can see in the background behind me, you got Lake Superior is beautiful. The Fall colors, of course, everything that there is, the stops along the way, Black Beach, the waterfalls, I mean, on and on the list just goes on,” said Jensen.
Whether you’re hiking, taking pictures, or simply taking it in.
You’ve got to admit; you just can’t beat the fantastic view.
