CLOQUET, Minn — Essentia Health has announced plans to expand its Cloquet Clinic, doubling its size.

On Tuesday, Essentia announced that it will be breaking ground on an approximately 7,500-square-foot expansion to the clinic starting this fall.

“Essentia is committed to meeting the growing health care needs of the Cloquet community,” said Sam Barney, administrator for Essentia Health. “We will be expanding family medicine and specialty care. By doubling the size of our clinic, we’re filling vital gaps in care and ensuring greater access to high-quality, compassionate health care for the patients who entrust us with their health and well-being.”

The new expansion will add 16 exam rooms and expand the clinic’s family medicine and specialty services while adding a retail pharmacy with a drive-through.

Officials with Essentia say they plan to hire more providers to increase specialty outreach in the community. They will also be offering mobile mammograms at the clinic on a routine basis.

The expansion is planned to break ground this fall, with construction anticipated to take one year. Essentia says the clinic will remain open during this time.
