Human Services Corridor Tour Provides View into Local Organizations
DULUTH, Minn. — Local human services organizations gave the public a chance to see the Human Services Corridor and its impact in Duluth.
CHUM, the Damiano Center, AICHO, Union Gospel Mission, Life House, and the Clayton Jackson McGhie Memorial presented as part of the tour.
Attendees got to see how the organizations operate, work together, and address the needs of Duluth head on.
“Think Duluth needs to remember that we’ve been struggling with chemical addiction, housing, abuse, trafficking for over a century. And now in our modern time, we’re still dealing with similar problems, but we’ve got coordinated community response right now that is holistically approaching people’s needs, trying to address the deep hurts in our area, to make Duluth a truly beautiful place to be.” said Bud Trnka, Volunteer and Events Coordinator for Chum.
The tour was open to the public.
Nursing students from Lake Superior College joined the tour, learning about crisis management and what resources are available locally.
