Essentia Health launches “Spartan Clinic” at Superior School District
SUPERIOR, Wis. — The Superior School District and Essentia Health announced a new partnership to allow students to receive healthcare while still at school.
The “Spartan Clinic” is a virtual health clinic for students grades 6-12 to receive care through Essentia Health.
The initiative is designed to help students miss less time at school for doctors’ appointments, in addition to establishing appointments, with Essentia providers for follow-up consultations.
The school district says that streamlining the care process will help their students heal-up faster than ever.
“Say a student comes to the health office, and the nurse does an assessment, and they’re like, ‘Yeah, pretty sure you have pink eye.’ They can call the parent, have a conversation with them about setting up a 24/7, on-demand appointment, and then (the) parent can go through Essentia do that, and we can have the student go right into this space to be able to meet with a provider,” said the school district’s Health Coordinator Brynn Larrabee.
Superior is one of the first 2 districts in Northwest WI. to receive the partnership with Essentia, with the other being Maple School District.
