Bags tournament raises $12,000 for Northern Lights Foundation

DULUTH, Minn. — A 52-team bags tournament raised $12,000 Saturday to help support local families with children who have life-threatening illnesses.

The tournament teams at The Other Place included law enforcement and fire departments from around the area.

Money raised from the tourney and raffle items will go to the Northland Lights Foundation.

The event was put on by the Cody Buus Invitational Courage Snowmobile Ride.

The three-day ride kicks off this year on Feb. 19 in Duluth and heads to Tower and Ely before returning to Duluth.

The ride, which is powered by Krenzen Auto, also raises money for the Northern Lights Foundation.

The foundation has issued cash grants to more than 300 local families totaling $1.5 million over the past 20 years.
