Visit Duluth Holds Annual Tourism Luncheon

Community Gears Up For Peak Tourism Season

Visit Duluth helps promote the twin ports area as a tourist destination.

The organization hosted a special luncheon Tuesday to anticipate the peak of Duluth’s upcoming tourist season and to recognize many local people who have significant impact on travel and tourism.

The luncheon also recognizes Travel Rally Day, a celebration designated by the U.S Travel Assosiation.

Tourism has an estimated $780 million dollar annual economic impact on the City of Duluth.  There are several major events happening in Duluth  in the coming weeks.

“It’s going to be fun summer for us, with Dylan Fest later this month, and Grandma’s Marathon 40th Anniversary, you follow that up with the Duluth Air Show in July and finally tall ships Duluth in August, so it’s a calendar packed year for us.”

The city of Duluth attracts more than 3.5 million tourists to the area each year and has become a continually growing part of the Northland economy.
