Area students swarmed the Jack Mead Gun club in Proctor, Saturday.
All were hoping to zero in on the only state high school shooting championship in the nation.
140 students took part in the 2nd Annual Hermantown High School Invitational Ttrap Tournament.
The co–ed event saw boys and girls from area high schools firing 50 to 100 rounds each.
The event is aimed at helping the young marksmen and markswomen prepare themselves for the Minnesota State Clay Target Shooting League Championships.
That tournament kicks off this Thursday, in Alexandria.
