Minn. Senate Staff Member Killed By Light Rail Train
A woman struck and killed by a light rail train in St. Paul was a longtime state Senate staff member.
Senate Majority Leader Tom Bakk Thursday held a moment of silence for the victim, who he identified as Lynne M. Thomas, a Senate staffer for 28 years.
She was 59 years old.
Metro Transit spokesman Howie Padilla says the woman was crossing University Avenue when she was struck by a westbound Green Line train about 7:30 a.m.
Paramedics found her unconscious and administered CPR.
She was taken to Regions Hospital.
Padilla says she was pronounced dead about 11 a.m.
