UPDATE: Two Juveniles Arrested in Robbery and Assault of 75-year-old Man

DULUTH, Minn. — Two male juveniles, a 14-year-old and 16-year-old, were arrested Wednesday, June 19 in the assault and robbery of a 75-year-old man in the DECC parking ramp.

UPDATE (6/20): The juveniles are facing pending charges of Aid and Abet 1st Aggravated Robbery and 3rd Degree Riot charges.

They were detained at about 10:30 pm on Wednesday, June 19 and are booked at the Arrowhead Juvenile Center.

No mention of alleged third individual involved.

ORIGINAL ARTICLE (6/17): A 75-year-old man suffered a “minor injury” Monday afternoon after being attacked and robbed in the DECC parking ramp by three juveniles, according to police.

Duluth police responded to the call for help around 4 p.m. Police said the man refused medical attention.

“The juveniles were identified and located but are not in custody pending further investigation,” according to a news release. The victim’s backpack remained missing, as of Monday evening.

Reports will be send to the Duluth Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit for further investigation and potential charges.

This latest violent crime comes after a woman was sexually assaulted in the downtown Duluth Skywalk in March and after a woman was attacked in the DECC parking ramp in 2022.
