Duluth Catholic Schools Announce Plans to Unite

One School, Multiple Campuses

Catholic schools in Duluth will be looking a lot different, according to a new plan announced earlier this morning.

The plan is to unite all four Duluth Catholic schools into one school, spread over multiple campuses.

The project is named “Called To Be One,” and it is still in the planning process.

In the coming months, the planning committee is seeking the opinions of the community for what their new school model will look like.

“All of our schools in the city are doing good work,” said Father Ryan Moravitz from the Crosslake and Emily Diocese. “And everyone is seeking to provide good, quality education for the future of our young people.”

So far they’ve identified a huge demand for a Catholic high school in the twin ports.

“All of our schools in the city are doing good work,” said Hilaire Hauer, co-chair of Cathedral of Our Lady of the Rosary. “And everyone is seeking to provide good, quality education for the future of our young people.”

More than 600 students are currently enrolled in Catholic schools in Duluth.

“Called To Be One” is hoping to finalize its recommendations in January of next year.
