DULUTH, Min.- FOX21 is a proud sponsor of the Red Cross “12-Hours of Giving” blood drive.

It’s a two day event from noon to 6pm on Thursday, December 18, 2025 and 9am to 3pm on Friday, December 19, 2025.

FOX21 talked to Taylor Welman.  Her son, Adrian, needed a blood donation a short time after he was born.  Taylor had a message to the person who made the donation, “Thank you so much from being the person who, or the family member of someone, who’s received blood. It’s so incredibly needed, so just keep doing it.”

She says it can be intimidating to donate blood for the first time.  But it is important to do it, “I can say that I’m nervous each and every time I go in, and I’ve gone in multiple times.  But I just remember the people that I’m helping and know that, you know, I could be saving a loved one. You know, someone saved my loved one, my little boy here, and I could be saving someone’s son, daughter, spouse, something like that. And so that really takes over the fear.”

How is Adrian doing after his blood donation?  Taylor says, “He’s doing fabulous now.”  She said the blood donation, “was kind of the turnaround for us”.

The 12 Hours of Giving will be at the Garden Event Center at 425 S. Lake Ave in Duluth.

Walk-ins are welcome, but you are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment.

You can schedule at RedCrossBlood.org with the code: 12 Hours Duluth
