Dean of UMN Medical School steps down
TWIN CITIES, Minn. — The Dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School has decided to step down.
Dean Jakub Tolar served as the Dean and Vice President for Clinical Affairs.
He will be taking on a new role as CEO and President of Baylor College of Medicine in Texas.
“I know that this is one of many changes that the School and Practice are managing, but the core does not waver because of outside forces—the strength is in the mission and day-to-day commitment to all that we are and all that we do. I am so proud of this faculty and team, and I will be forever grateful for having had the opportunity to serve as your Dean/VP.” said Jakub Tolar, MD, PhD.
The UMD Medical School serves as a regional branch of the greater medical school and recently moved to a 4-year program.
