St. Scholastica Students Have Day Off For Community

Community Service Day for Students and Faculty

Students and faculty at St. Scholastica had the day off from class Wednesday, but they still kept busy.

It was the university’s Spring Community Day – a day for volunteering and community service.

Students and faculty had the option to stay on campus and help pack turkey lunches for the hungry or go off campus and help with some school programs in need of volunteers.

“It makes you feel great to help the community in any way possible, and it’s very enriching,” said sophomore Bailey Schoelzel.

The university also hosted a legislative forum this afternoon – a discussion with students and State Senator Roger Reinert and State Rep. Mary Murphy about students becoming more active in the political arena.
