Red Cross Holding Consecutive Blood Drives, Also in Need of Volunteers
DULUTH, Minn. —
It’s the start a new season, and the American Red Cross is still in need of blood donations and volunteers.
March has been National Red Cross Month, and there are still blood drives left before this month is done.
One was today at the Red Cross office, but there’s another opportunity to make a blood donation tomorrow morning at their office at 2524 Maple Grove Road in Duluth.
Staff members at the Red Cross say they’re using technology more than ever, with sign ups on the web and the use of a new app specifically for blood donors.
“We want to make it as simple as possible for people,” said Donor Recruit Account Manager Amy Kranig. “Always be aware that we need them to volunteer and donate blood.”
Kranig encourages even those on the fence about making a blood donation to come in and give it a try.
“Come in and see what the chapter’s all about and how the chapter services this area locally,” she said. “And please give blood!”
Those at the Duluth Chapter of the American Red Cross say they are particularly in need of blood from people with O negative and AB blood types.
Next month is volunteer month, and they are always in need for new volunteers to help with their mission.
