Forum Raises Awareness About Elder Abuse

SUPERIOR, Wis. – The Twin Ports is experiencing a trend that’s becoming something of an epidemic — hitting one of the most vulnerable groups of our population.

According to UWS officers, one out of every 10 people 60 and older are abused every year.

The abuse includes financial exploitation, fraud, scams, emotional and physical mistreatment, and neglect.

UWS estimates 3,800 older adults experience abuse each year in the Twin Ports.
