Northlanders Get Mega Powerball Fever

The Powerball Jackpot of $500 million had many hopeful millionaires rushing to buy there chance at the pie Wednesday. 

Jason Wall, shift leader at Super America in Duluth changed, “Let’s get a name for Duluth! Let’s get a winner.”

While the opportunity to buy a winning ticket is a gamble, many Northlanders were willing to take the chance.

 “Tonight’s 500 million dollar Powerball is the 4th largest on record, and the 6th of any U.S. jackpot,” said Debbie Hoffmann, spokeswoman from the Minnesota Lottery.

The Powerball has been played in the gopher state since 1992 — and tickets are $2 a pop. 

In 2013, a Minnesota man claimed one-third of the $448 million jackpot.
