Annual Holiday Dinner at the Union Gospel Mission
Temple Israel Jewish Community Members Volunteered
Community members show their holiday cheer at An Inter-faith Christmas Dinner.
The smell of freshly cooked turkey and the sound of laughter filled the Union Gospel Mission as Members of the Temple Israel Jewish Community Center served Christmas dinners as volunteers.
It’s an interfaith tradition that has been going on for decades
“We don’t celebrate Christmas so we feel like we can help people in the mission that need help and so we’re here,” said Susan Ginsburg, from the Temple Israel.
Many of the attendees couldn’t spend time with their families on Christmas, or couldn’t afford a holiday Dinner, but all those who wished to attend were invited.
The event was put on with enough food for an anticipated 200 attendees, and 15 to 20 members of the Temple Israel Jewish Community Center Volunteer each year
