City Council Passes The Torch

Duluth city councilors got together to reflect on the accomplishments in 2015. The group also welcomed in the newly elected councilors and said goodbye to the old ones.

The four departing council members are: Linda Krug, Sharla Gardner and Jennifer Julsrud, along with Council President Emily Larson who is leaving to take over mayoral duties.

“We talked a little bit about some of our accomplishments for the year,” Larson said.

“But really, today for me was about honoring the three outgoing councilors,” Larson said.

Linda Krug has enjoyed her time serving Duluth.  The outgoing council member said, “The best part of being on the council has been when we do things that affect people’s lives in a very positive way.”

All four councilors shared the similar message of thanking the community for the opportunity to serve.

Jan. 4 is the inauguration, and there will be four new council members with one re-elect.
