Beargrease Marathon Welcomes Back Old Sponsor

The 32nd Annual John Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon has rekindled a relationship with a former sponsor.

The Portage Band Of Lake Superior Chippewa  presented a $20,000r check to the Beargrease Sled Dog Marathon’s president at a Thursday press conference.

“Sponsors don’t stay forever. It’s the nature of the sponsorship world and to bring the band back on in particular. For them to say that the Beargrease is important enough to them historically that brings a smile to all of us.” said Jason Rice, spokesperson for the race.

The race starts January 31 and ends Feb. 3.

Volunteers are still needed.
