Essentia Health Raises Breast Cancer Awareness

Essentia Health held a Breast Cancer Seminar to educate and to raise awareness.

 1 in 8 US women will develop invasive breast cancer in her life time. Though the U.S Task Force said that breast cancer screenings should be done starting at the age of 50, Essentia Health says it should be earlier. 

“At the present time we continue to support screening mammogram annually starting at age 40.” Said Jill Holsinger, a Radiologist at Essentia Health. 

The healthcare provider says that 1.5 in every one thousand women develop breast cancer in their 40’s.
