Man sentenced for murder in fentanyl overdose

DULUTH, Min. – Derrick Vincent Weatherly has been sentences to 86 months in prison for Third Degree Murder. He was convicted in the overdose death of Christopher Michael Sauve. An autopsy revealed that Sauve’s death was caused by fentanyl toxicity. Law enforcement discovered Weatherly sold the drugs to Sauve that ultimately caused his death.
