Transportation Forward Coalition Kicks Off Campaign Duluth
Thursday Mayor Emily Larson and local leaders joined together to urge the Minnesota Legislature to increase funding for all transportation modes.
The hope is that Duluth could have a twenty first century transportation system to improve mobility and give the city an economic boost.
“We know that these dollars go right back into the economy, we know that it improves the quality life not just for downtown but for neighborhoods. We know that these dollars put people to work and we know that these dollars greatly improve the quality of life and the experience that people have here in Duluth,” said Larson.
The push for funding comes due to a surplus. Mayor Larson believes transportation should be prioritized when the legislature reconvenes.
