Ann Glumac Officially Named Exec. Director Of Spirit Mountain

DULUTH, Minn. — Spirit Mountain’s Board has officially named Ann Glumac as the attraction’s new executive director.

This comes after Glumac served as interim executive director since 2020 after the previous husband-and-wife leadership team resigned.Glumac

Glumac is a former deputy commissioner of the MPCA, IRRB, and former president of the Great Lakes Aquarium.

Under her first season at Spirit Mountain, she was able to turn the attraction’s finances around with a profit.

Glumac sent the following statement to FOX 21 Thursday:

“Spirit Mountain is a tremendous asset to our community, providing outdoor recreation opportunities to our family, friends and neighbors in the Duluth community and attracting tourists from around the state and nation who want to enjoy the many opportunities we offer.

For the last three-plus years as we all have lived through the pandemic, I’ve been honored to work with an incredibly dedicated group of industry professionals who are committed to delivering on Spirit’s mission. Removing the term ‘interim’ from my title seems an appropriate and accurate reflection of my commitment to the community, to Spirit and to my amazing colleagues.”

Arik Forsman, a Spirit Mountain board member and Duluth city councilor, said:

“Executive Director Glumac’s strong leadership and steady hand has been immensely valuable for Spirit Mountain. She has built a deep team that is achieving the right results, the right way. We are lucky she’s willing to continue leading the organization and serving our community in this role going forward.”
