Babe the Blue Ox Takes a Tumble

Severe thunderstorms pushed through northern Minnesota early Thursday causing closed roads, power outages, and delayed a county fair opening. These storms also toppled over the large Babe the Blue Ox statue at Paul Bunyan Land.

Volunteers with the Christian Aid Ministries Rapid Response Team arrived in Duluth, in less than 24 hours of Mayor Emily Larson, City Councilors and emergency response community partners publicizing the Head of the Lakes United Way 2-1-1 resource for residents in need following the July 21 storm.
